J.D. Wilkes & The Dirt Daubers
J.D. Wilkes and The Dirt Daubers recently released, Wild Moon, their third album to much praise. ” Wild Moon, marks the band’s growth from an acoustic roots project to an amped-up quartet, soaked with blues and rockabilly,” writes the Missoula News. San Francisco Bay Guardian adds “Wilkes—a bonafide Kentucky Colonel formed The Dirt Daubers in 2009 with his wife Jessica…the album finds them mixing traditional sounds with an infectious rock attitude and approach.”
J.D. Wilkes and The Dirt Daubers is Colonel J.D. Wilkes (vocals, harmonica, banjo), Jessica Wilkes (vocals and upright bass), plus fellow Legendary Shack Shaker Rod Hamdallah (guitar) and Preston Corn (drums). The album features smoky baritone sax grooves compliments of Tom Waits’ sideman Ralph Carney.
