It really doesn’t matter who you ask, if the words “great Cincinnati music” roll off your tongue, chances are “The Tillers” is what you’ll hear in response.
They formed sometime around 2007 and have become arguably the best live band in The Greater Cincinnati land area. They are students as well as teachers of music. They know tradition. They aren’t pigeon-holed into playing one style or another. Listen to their album “By the Signs” and you’ll catch our drift. They aren’t just great musicians either. Their vocal harmonies are beautiful, dark, and piercing. The perfect match for each other.
They can turn a stoic crowd into a near riot. They invoke something inside of you that makes you turn almost primal in your instincts to dance. They can break your heart while listening to them in a car. They play music because there was never, EVER, anything else they wanted to do. And for that, The Whispering Beard Folk Festival is more than happy to welcome back, for the seventh year, our friends, our brothers, The Tillers.
